Text Forwarding & Auto-Notification Feature

There are two forms for communication with your parents via their cell phones' texts. One options is a text auto-notifications and the other option is a text forward. Both of these options have to be opted in on the parent account. Here are descriptions for both options:

Note - SMS technology will strip any HTML code used within the message. Information sent via text messaging is not secure. Do not include any sensitive material. FCC regulations apply. Messages retrieved from the school portal are protected by USER passwords and Secure Socket Layer, to help ensure the privacy and integrity of information transmitted over the internet.

Auto-text notifications
This is generic message that your parents will receive automatically alerting them when an FDmail message is sent to their parent account. The auto-text notification will read 'You have a message waiting for you in your FastDirect parent account'.

Text forwarding
For any FDmail message sent to the parent from a staff person, that message will be forwarded via text message to the parents' cell phones. Only those who have elected to allow (activated) the feature will receive the text forward because normal cell phone provider text message fees apply.
