5th Grade Subjects:
Religion-Lessons 44-45 Daniel and Queen Ester will be covered this week.

Memory- Tuesday-The Sacrament of Baptism 4th First paragraph Thursday- The Sacrament of Baptism 4th second paragraph. We have marked the paragraphs in our packets.

English-Lessons 69-71 will be covered with a set given each day. On Wednesday, April 24th we will have a grammar test and creative writing. Creative Writing will be an adventure genre and be due on Friday.

Vocabulary- Unit 14 5x's each will be due Thursday, April 25 and the spelling test will be Friday, April 26. Unit 14 pages are due Wednesday, May 1st and the content test on Friday, May 3rd.

www.sadlierconnect.com is a great resource to practice the concepts. 10 minutes a day will help!

Literature- We will read chapters 10-12 this week. The reading of the chapters will be both in and out of class. If pages are assigned to read out of class, then a brief reading comprehension quiz will be given. I will encourage the students to annotate (book note) while they read.

Math- Monday, April 22 will be a practice test and Tuesday, April 23 will be the test. Wednesday we will do an investigation in class. Lessons 91-92 will be covered with a set given each day.

I would suggest having your child practice their multiplication facts on a daily basis. This will help with their math fluency. The following link is a great tool to help and it's fun!

Writing- We continue to practice our cursive handwriting and fluency. This week we will begin planning and prewriting our "How-To" essay.

Literature: Chapters 4-6 We will read both in and out of class. There will be reading quizzes, small group, as well as whole group discussions. Annotating is essential for all quizzes and discussions.

Writing: We will continue our cursive handwriting practice. We revise and edit our descriptive essay about a personal friend.
