Dear School Families:

There is one day remaining to make donations for Stray Rescue. This is a wonderful organization that accepts animals that have no other home. Donations may include food, beds, blankets, and toys. Our thanks to everyone who has sent in donations! Thank you!!

The Kindergarten, 1st, and 3rd Grade Family Class Mass is next Sunday, April 26, at 9:30 AM. This is a wonderful opportunity for all parish families with the Kindergarteners, 1st, and 3rd Graders to gather together in prayer and then share refreshments in the cafeteria after Mass.

Grab your hiking boots and take a step through the misty air of Rainforest Falls, overflowing with wild waterfalls, towering trees, and colorful creatures. Beneath a canopy of chattering birds and howling monkeys, children plunge into a lifelong adventure of discovering the nature of God. They'll explore what it means to be rooted in relationship with God, their creator, a refuge in life's storms. Registration has begun for this tropical adventure during the week of June 8 - 12. Children entering Kindergarten through 5th Grade are invited to join the adventure. 6th Graders and up are invited to sign-up to be a volunteer. In the packet this week you will find information regarding the NWEA tests. The third session testing period begins Monday, April 20 and runs through Friday, May 8. These tests vary greatly from the Iowa Assessments and CogAT tests we previously took. Please remember we are in the second year of a three-year implementation. We chose to test K - 8th Grade so that by end of the three years the children would be comfortable with the tests.

As the warmer weather is upon us, please take note of the Dress Down Uniform Code on pages 22 - 23 of the Student & Parent Handbook, especially the length of shorts children wear. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.

If you have not completed your registration for the 2026-2027 School Year, please do so as soon as possible. I would like to have registration completed by the end of April in order to make preparations for the coming school year. Please contact Sarah, Mary, or me if you are in need of the link to the registration or an additional
hard copy. Thank you!

In the packet this week you will find information to order a 2025 – 2026 St. Cletus School Yearbook. If you would like a yearbook, you can order online (by using the QR code on the order form) or by completing the form and returning it to the school office by Friday, May 8. Thank you!

We have one week remaining until our upcoming Glow Run. This is an exciting event which will be held next Thursday, April 23. The children will have a wonderful time at this event, running laps and playing a number of glow games. We will have a neon/bright color Dress Down Day so we can glow as we run! If your schedule allows, please feel free to stop by and view the fun! All proceeds will go towards the Playground. We are looking for several volunteers to help with the day – it can be all day or either morning or afternoon. If you are interested, please contact either me or Mrs. Prather. Our thanks to Marianne Prather and the Playground Committee for sponsoring this fun event!

In just a few weeks, we will have our annual Field Day on Friday, May 8. This is a wonderful day planned by 8th Grade and Mrs. Prather. We invite everyone to attend our Field Day to view the activities and join us for lunch if your schedule allows. The PTO provides lunch for all of our students. Families planning on attending the Field Day have the opportunity to purchase lunch. In the envelope this week you will find a flyer regarding lunches for Field Day. If you plan to join us for the day, please make sure you order your lunch by May 1. Homeroom teachers will be taking the orders for their classrooms. We invite you to join us for the entire day or a portion of the day – please remember to sign in at the school office. Prior to lunch the homerooms will be participating in a variety of events planned by the 8th grade students. After lunch, the children will gather with their school families for a relay - at approximately 12:00 PM - which will be followed by the
8th grade/faculty/staff Balloon Toss – at approximately 12:30 PM. We will dismiss at 1:00 PM on Friday. Please join us for these events and see which school family will host the Relay trophy for the year, and which teacher and student team will be the last standing in the Balloon Toss. We look forward to seeing you at Field Day.

For all quilters and those who love to sew – there is a container in the school lobby for material, threads, ribbons, etc., to be donated to Stitches of Second Chances. This organization makes blankets, vests, and stuffed items for individuals with sensory needs. Donations are accepted through April 24.

Please share the news of Our Help Pave the Path to Play Program! We have sold 105 bricks which is a wonderful start for our program. I would like to thank those individuals who have purchased a brick already! Please know that bricks can be purchased by individuals going together, by classes, in memory of or as a challenge between different groups, etc. Individuals can also donate without purchasing a brick. We appreciate everyone’s commitment to helping us provide a new playground for the children.

In the packet this week you will find a flyer regarding the Parish Picnic Raffle Baskets. PTO is sponsoring this booth and we’re asking every class to help with baskets. Please see the flyer for details regarding your basket! Please note this year the Parish Picnic has been moved to Friday evening, May 15, and Saturday, May 16. We are looking forward to gathering as a Parish Family to celebrate and enjoy each other’s company.

There is still time to attend our Music Bingo being held on Saturday, April 18, at 6:00 PM. Come enjoy an evening of song with family and friends!

There is still time to sign-up for the Moms and Sons - Boys, Bags, and BBQ on April 26, at 1:00 PM. Spend an afternoon with your boys playing and eating and enjoying the day!!! Looking forward to a wonderful day!
