What a wonderful Olympic Day. The weather was great. The students had a super time. I have to give a special shout-out to our 8th grade students. They truly lived up to the title of "leaders of the school."

Here we are. It's the last week of school. Here are the details for the week.

Celebrations for the week:
Monday - V - Visit next year's classroom.
Tuesday - W - Where on the campus of Sts. Joachim and Ann? It's also Kona Ice treats and Pink reading shirt day.
Wednesday - X - Xchange autographs. Banana Split Party
Thursday - Year-end party - 8th Grade graduation
Friday - Zip up and zip out - All-school mass 8:00 A.M. - Awards - 11:00 dismissal - Last day of school.

Simple Solutions Lessons this week: #137-139. We won't get to the last lesson and no quizzes this week.

Congratulations to third grade: The students have all their school library books turned in! Mrs. Kaatman is very grateful.

Literacy
We are working on spelling words but will not test on them. We have been having a great time writing and sharing fiction chapter book stories. This class is a terrific group of writers.

Math
We have one more timed multiplication test on Wednesday. I am so proud of this group of students. We will be working on decimals and playing multiplication games this week.

Relgion
Jesus calls us. Do we answer? How do we answer?

Social Studies
The Bill of Rights

Science
We are not starting a new science unit. We will be doing some fun Mystery Science activities.

Report Cards will be open for viewing on May 31.

Finally, I am writing my last newsletter. It hardly seems possible. I will be cleaning my classroom up and out in the next couple of weeks to get ready for a new teacher. When my husband and I moved back here, I was looking for a place to spend the last few years of my career. I could not have asked for a better place. The staff and faculty here are exemplary! Mrs. Schutz is one of the best principals I have ever worked for. Finally, the families of this parish are so unique. Your devotion to your children and their education has made my job so enjoyable. I will always hold this parish in my heart. I hope to see some of you again, maybe in the "real world," or maybe as a sub. Please accept my thanks for a wonderful teaching experience.
