What are are learning this week:
Reading/ELA: In week two we will be reading the story Hollywood Chicken. This story is about a Chicken who moves to Hollywood to become an actress. Our vocabulary words this week: believe, bind, clever, fulfill, journey, narrow, plain, speech
Our Phonics and Spelling Words: all jobs of Y
Our vocabulary strategies is words that describe people, places, and things
Comprehension Skills: story structure, create mental images, elements of drama, make and confirm predictions, figurative language
Grammar- past tense verbs -ed, verbs in the future tense, present, past, and future tense
Our focus question of the week is: What lessons can we learn from characters in a story?
Math: We will spend this week reviewing 2 digit addition with regrouping and we will take our Chapter test on Thursday.
Social Studies-
We will be starting Unit 2 on economics. We will begin with lesson 5 how people use our environment.
* Distinguish between things that are from nature and those made by people.
* Analyze how people live in different environments.
* Describe how the natural resources of different environments can be used for food, clothing, and shelter.
* Explain the causes and effects of land, water, and air pollution.
Religion- We will begin Session 7
We will learn the story of Zacchaeus
We will describe ways that Jesus shows his love to everyone
John the Baptist was a Holy man who taught people about the coming of the Messiah.
Define Miracle.
