What we're currently learning!

Math: All about division! Study at home by mastering multiplication and division facts as often as you can.

Reading: Focusing on reading fluency, we'll practice how to re-read our texts to find certain answers and how to predict, visualize, infer and make questions to help us comprehend stories easily.

Science: We are learning about how animals and plants adapt to their environments. We'll learn about what happens as environments change rapidly and we'll make posters about the really cool adaptations that organisms have to help them survive.

Social Studies: We are discussing different types of communities such as urban, suburban and rural. We'll be connecting how our communities are similar and different to communities around the world.

Religion: Following Jesus Christ is one of our missions of the faith. We'll learn all about why we follow Jesus Christ and what it means to follow him. We'll also take part in breaking down the important parts of prayer like the Apostles Creed and why we say those words.

Important Policies in 3rd Grade

1. Talking of any kind, looking over at others or using notebooks during closed note tests and quizzes will result as a zero for that grade. We have no tolerance with cheating. Students are warned this before each test.

2. Consequences are dealt out for social issues and handled within the classroom. We do not allow name calling, rumors, injuring, theft, purposely embarrassing or excluding others and false reporting. Consequences range from missing part of recess or free time, lunch alone, cleaning for the teacher and in some more serious cases even lunch detention or detention with Mrs. Fitzgerald. Parents will be notified for severe consequences and acts but will not be notified for small isolated incidents such as hurtful comments and roughhousing.
