Third Grade News - April 12, 2024 - Mrs. Fritz - Room 16

We had some nice, Spring weather this week and enjoyed some outside fun with our Kindergarten buddies! We are wrapping up quite a few lessons this week and next week as we head into the home stretch of third grade!

Here’s what we worked on this week:

Reading/ELA -> This week we read en excerpt from the story “Sarah, Plain and Tall.” We noticed how Sarah was like the pioneers who moved West in America and how her journey was different. We continued to work with Adverbs this week and we worked on adding the endings -ed and -ing to words.

Math -> We are wrapping up Chapter 7 next week and will take the Chapter 7 Test on Monday, April 22nd. I don’t normally like to do tests on Monday, but we will spend next week reviewing!

Religion -> We are finishing up the Chapter on Easter and will be taking the Chapter 25 test on Tuesday, April 16th. We learned about how the Easter season continues through the feast of Pentecost, which is at the end of May.

Social Studies -> We are wrapping up Chapter 9 which taught us more about our economy focusing on supply and demand. We will take the Chapter 9 test next Thursday, April 18th. We have been taking notes in our notebook and students should use that to study along with the posted Kahoot.

Science -> We are learning about factors that impact habitats and how people, plants and animals can adapt to changes in their environment.

Coming Up:
>Tuesday and Thursday Band will be selling candy bars during the lunch periods for $1 each - please send cash if you would like your child to buy one!

>Thursday: Social Studies Chapter 9 Test
>Friday: Spelling Test & Reading Test
