For all classes: Homework assignments must be completed and turned in on time in order to receive full credit. (On-time is at the beginning of the class in which it is due.) Students who miss class are responsible for completing the classwork and homework and turning in the assignment that was due that day. Missing homework assignments will be recorded as 0%; late assignments can be turned in until the test on that chapter, and will receive a grade of 50%. Talking during a test or quiz will result in an automatic detention.

Trimester Grades:
Final grades are not rounded and will include tests, quizzes, projects, classwork and homework. For Science, tests, quizzes, and projects are weighted equally and make up the 80% of the grade. Classwork and homework are 20% of the grade. For Social Studies, all tests, quizzes, and assignments are weighted equally.

Gr. 4 Social Studies - Ch. 9. We will be learning about the changes in farming in the Midwest from the 1800s to the present. We will continue to work on the 50 states and their capitals. All students will take a flash card quiz on this before May 24. The quiz on Chapter 9 will be on Wednesday, April 24.

Gr. 4 Science - Ch. 6.2, How Do Other Factors Shape Earth's Surface? Students will be able to explain and record evidence of weathering, erosion and deposition caused by factors such as wind, ice, and gravity. Quiz date is Tuesday, April 23.

Gr. 5 Science - Ch. 5.2, What Daily Patterns Can Be Observed?
Students will be able to describe patterns caused by interactions between Earth, the sun, and the stars. The quiz for this chapter will include information from Ch. 5.1. Date TBA.

Grade 5 SS - Ch. 11, To Declare Independence or Not. We will learn about the Loyalists and the Patriots, and the arguments for and against independence. Quiz will be on Tuesday, April 23.
