For some reason when struggling Catholic schools merge, the Archdiocese of St. Louis refers to it as a "Renaissance in Catholic Education". St. Rose of Lima School in DeSoto is experiencing its own Renaissance, but for a different reason. This past Wednesday, August 30th, the School held a groundbreaking for the Parish's new St. Rose Hall. Construction begins immediately.

The project is being paid for by a private donor, existing funds, and "Wish List" items donated by Parishioners to furnish and finish the new construction. E. A. Boyer is the General Contractor. The 40" x 80" modified gymnasium is being built on the School's current playground/parking lot.

The School will use the Hall for various school functions, P.E. and for recess in inclement weather. St. Rose Parish will use the Hall for parish events as well. St. Rose School has experienced a 50% increase in enrollment in the past 5 years.

The people of St. Rose, their Pastor, Fr. Alex Anderson, and St. Rose School Principal, Mike Talleur, all agree: "The construction of the new St. Rose Hall will only add to the message - St. Rose School is here to stay!"
