Mrs. RandolphWhat We're Learning in 4th Grade...Reading:We have wrapped up our novel, "Charlotte's Web". One of the ending projects, is to make rock candy on a stick. We started studying the periodic table last week during time travel. This week we will make a rock candy as a Charlotte Web project and to demonstrate the sugar molecule process. Grammar: We our wrapping up our persuasive writing examples this week and will be presenting them to the class. Spelling: Unit 22 - 3/1 (homophones)
Spelling: Unit 23 - 3/8 (syllable division patterns)
Spelling: Unit 24 (Review units 19-23) - 3/15
Students keep a list of spelling words for the week in their student planner.
Test day will be on Friday’s. (With the exception of short weeks). Dates for upcoming tests will be written in their student planner. Math: We will begin adding and subtracting fractions this week!
Science: We have begun our energy unit and are learning about different forms of energy.
Religion: During Time Travel, we are uncovering our directions using the periodic table, and will rewrite the directions this week. Once we have accurate directions to follow, we will bake a cake for Jesus.
Social Studies: We will begin our study of the Midwest region of the United States. We will learn about early exploration, conflicts, economy, transportation, and what life is like there now.
I will assess students on their knowledge of the Midwest states, as well as the matching capital city at the end of our unit.
Midwest States and Capitals Test - TBD
Students may practice their ELA skills via "IXL" using their Google login information.
Students may practice their Math and ELA skills via "Prodigy" using their Google login information.
