Subject Expectation
Math
Complete lessons in class and ask questions when not understanding material. 5th grade has 2 textbooks, while 6th grade has one.
English
Turn in the completed worksheet. If struggling, I suggest taking notes that students can use on homework and tests.
Novel
Following along while reading during class, and follow through on reading on their own. Students are responsible to read full chapters on their own as well as answer comprehension questions in the novel packets.
Vocab/Spelling
Students will be working with the same words for 2 weeks. The first week is vocabulary, then the following week the same words are their spelling words. 5th graders have 12 words while 6th graders have 20 words. Most of this is all done independently.
Handwriting
Every week we have a week of working and practicing our cursive handwriting. This is done independently and turned in at the end of each week.
Religion
Follow along with the reading, while writing the answers as we go through them as a class.
History
Follow along as we read, while taking notes on important information. Turning in any paper or project work in a timely manner.
Science
Follow along as we read, listen, and learn to take notes. Trying their best during experiments and assessments.
Church attendance - We encourage our families to attend worship services regularly.
Gym shoes - a separate pair will need to be kept at school.
Memory Work - In 5th-6th grade the student is responsible for studying independently either at home, school or both.
FastDirect - Look here for weekly updates on their report card. Ask the office or myself if you do not know how to login.
