My Grading Policy

I try to follow a similar grading policy that has already been established with the general education curriculum. If an assignment was given (homework), it is expected to be completed by the next Art Class time (usually 1 week), unless otherwise stated. All homework turned in completed and on time will receive a "+". If an assignment is late but turned in the next school day, the grade will be a "S". If the assignment is turned in at the next scheduled art class, then the grade will be a "-". Students are encouraged to turn their assignments in early. The classroom teachers have been more than willing to place artwork in a safe place for class. Anything turned in without a name on the back of the piece will result in a "-".

Art Club

Art Club meets once a week and we do really fun things, like paint, draw, and make great projects. Art Club is open to all students grades 1-8. We meet in the Art Room, on either a Monday or a Friday, from 3:15-4:00.
Below is a tentative list of projects I have planned for the year. We will be meeting 3 times a month.
There is a cost for Art Club to pay for supplies and teaching fee. The cost is $15 a month. Checks can be made payable to Aymie Barnes and turned into the school office.

Buckeyes (the kind from the tree, but I'd accept the candy Buckeyes too!)
Wine Corks
Fleece scraps (at least 9 x 7 inches)
Mason Jars (even if they are no longer good for canning purposes)
Old/ Used (but cleaned) canning lids or rings(Reg. or Wide Mouth)
Buttons
Styrofoam Balls
Old Towels (any size, and condition!)
Old or Broken Crayons
Old Pillows (non feather please)
Plastic Ice Cream Containers (5 quart)
Paper Towel Rolls
TP Rolls
Incandescent light bulbs (ones that have burned out or bad are GREAT!)
8x10 Picture Frames
5x7 Picture Frames
