Happy Apple Week! What a busy and fun week we have had as we continued to explore apples. The children created some beautiful apple trees and leaf paintings. We also had a tasting party and sampled green, red, and yellow apples. The children then voted on their favorite; green, Granny Smith, had the most votes. We also tasted Apple Jacks, apple juice and apple sauce. We even did a fun science experiment called apple volcanoes using vinegar, baking soda and glitter. This was a big hit! We let the children smell the vinegar... they were not fans of the smell! We finished our apple unit with some great books; Apple Countdown and my personal favorite, The Giving Tree. We will begin discussing the changing seasons and that fall is coming soon. To prepare for this unit and for our Literacy art project, we read 'When The Leaf Blew In'. The children made leaves and painted them; they shared where their leaves might have landed. Be sure to check it out in the hall way.

Our room moms sent out information about our cutting happy hour party. This will take place on October 10th at 6:00pm, wine, water and appetizers will be provided. Please bring a pair of scissors with you.
