I have Google Classroom ready for my History and Religion students. They will get their meet links this week as we all get comfortable with it. I will transition everything to that platform as it has great capability and offers much flexibility for our class. As the weeks go by, I will add more and more content there, so be sure your child checks it daily and brings their charged ChromeBooks to class every single day. They can contact me through Google Classroom if they need to reach me. If you need to get in touch with me, just zip a FastDirect message to me.

This week, Grades 6-8 will discuss migration with our Article of the Week; a nice pairing with the historical migration, nomadic way of life, and anthropology that their current history lessons touch on. A link has been attached in Google Classroom that they can show you later in the week. They will also memorize Ephesians 6:10-13a as it coincides with this year's theme for First Lutheran School: the full armor of God! Additionally, we are set to enjoy Game Day this week where history questions will be the focus of our take of television games such as Family Feud, Who Wants to be a Millionaire, Jeopardy, and the like. If your child has received no more than two "marks" (equivalent to getting their name on the board for class disruptions/distractions, breaking rules, etc.), then they will be eligible to participate in this. I have tried to make this game day as soon in the quarter as possible, so that every student has the best chance of being eligible to participate.

Lastly, I will send our class rules home with your student this week to ensure you are aware of the parameters I have recently had to add, as some teachers experienced a very difficult week with students from one of our grade levels last week. Oh, I almost forgot! I have set some time aside Monday to celebrate your children who had/have birthdays in July and August! It's a surprise, so don't tell them! And have a fabulous week.
