I hope that you all had a blessed Thanksgiving, and a well rested break. Good food, loved ones, and a break from the normal routine to give thanks and prepare for the coming of the Lord always equals a fantastic time! Are you using secret weapons for children’s school? The planner, folder, Friday Letter & Fast Direct! This will tell you everything you need to know about your child’s school day when it’s filled out, and papers put in appropriate folders. Don’t forget FD shows grades. These are vital parts to being in tune with what kids do in school. Please make sure that planners are signed. Keep reading for AR! Some are doing great, close to making goals; and some need some good reading time to catch up. Play permission slips and money are due tomorrow, and “family” pictures are due on Friday. Math test is tomorrow. Continue to think of the things that that God has richly blessed us with, in this season. We are blessed to be a blessing as we count our gifts from God, and share them with others.

LATE POLICY

In accordance with First Lutheran School Student handbook homework policy, students who have three late assignments in one week will receive a detention.

FRIDAY LETTER SPECIAL NOTE:

As we start off the new calendar year please remember keys to success for a positive school year
Help the kids to be in the full swing of school, as we prepare to be fifth graders! This is especially true for work to be turned in a timely manner. It can be tough to get back into routine after a break. The third late assignment each week, a detention is given according to school policy. Some get VERY close weekly. Planners & Fast Direct are the best tools to help.

A great way to do this is to ask the kids what questions they asked in school that day.:

- Taking work home to have other eyes look at simple mistakes
- Taking graded work home
- Using planners & Fast Direct
- Taking Friday Letters and school Chatters home for information
- Paying attention and focusing in class
- Studying at home for tests
- Turing work in on time
- Reading for AR at home uninterrupted
