Welcome to the KinderNews. This newsletter will be sent home each Friday or last day of the school week. It will update you on the activities we do each week. I will print snack reminders and special events coming up. You can also view the KinderNews on my Fast Direct bulletin board.

Attached to the newsletter is a form for Church and Sunday School attendance. We give quarterly awards for perfect Church and Sunday School attendance. Regular Church attendance is important to your family's faith growth. Please fill out the form and return in your child's folder on Monday.

The second quarter of school ends on Dec. 19. Second quarter report card goes home on Jan. 9.

I will be out of town and not at school on Monday and Tuesday, Dec. 15&16. Please call the school office if you need to let my sub, Mrs. Karen Whelan, know anything about your child. Thanks.

On the back page of our phonics worksheets (letter sheets) is a dotted box. Each day at school we will echo read these words. They are high frequency words, meaning we'll see them a lot as we are learning our reading skills. Please echo read these with your child every day. As they are learned, allow your child to read them.

I would like to collect all sight word cards to add the third quarter cards over Christmas break. Please put them in your child's folder next week.

As cold weather approaches, we will try to go outside for recess as much as possible. We do not go outside when the temperature is below 32 degrees and/or if their is snow on the ground. Please send warm coats, hats and gloves when the weather calls for it. Also remember to dress your child in layers, a short sleeve under a long sleeve, as it gets warm in the building.
