Welcome to the KinderNews. This newsletter will be sent home each Friday or last day of the school week. It will update you on the activities we do each week. I will print snack reminders and special events coming up. You can also view the KinderNews on my Fast Direct bulletin board.

Attached to the newsletter is a form for Church and Sunday School attendance. We give quarterly awards for perfect Church and Sunday School attendance. Regular Church attendance is important to your family's faith growth. Please fill out the form and return in your child's folder on Monday.

Turkey Trouble! Last week, a turkey project went home. We read the book "Turkey Trouble." It's about a turkey trying to avoid being eaten for Thanksgiving. He comes up with all kinds of disguises. The project is to come up with a disguise for the turkey picture sent home with the explanation letter. Return your disguised turkey by Monday, November 17.

On the back page of our phonics worksheets (letter sheets) is a dotted box. Each day at school we will echo read these words. They are high frequency words, meaning we'll see them a lot as we are learning our reading skills. Please echo read these with your child every day. As they are learned, allow your child to read them.

LCFS Gifts: What is it? Our school adopts 12 children through Lutheran Child and Family Services to provide Christmas gifts for them. We ask for donations toward the purchase of gifts from each child's wish list. You may send your donation to the school office or in your child's folder, marked LCFS Gift by November 21. The money collected is then pooled and divided between the 12 children. Daycare- 8th grade participates in this. Mr. Becker will be delivering the gifts to the LCFS office on Dec. 5.

As cold weather approaches, we will try to go outside for recess as much as possible. Please send warm coats, hats and gloves when the weather calls for it. Also remember to dress your child in layers, a short sleeve under a long sleeve, as it gets warm in the building.
